About this deal

As well as being able to accept a standard line level input, it can be switched to become a moving magnet phono stage. It is a very convenient solution, we can control the volume and change songs in the blink of an eye.

This means there is no UPnP, AirPlay or Chromecast but, equally, you do get some inputs that I’ve been bemoaning the absence of on other products recently. If you are hoping for a presentation chock full of midrange emphasis but decidedly anaemic at the frequency extremes, you’ll have to go elsewhere. There is a substantial loss of upper content when listening from the sides of the device, but that’s not surprising because it’s front-firing.The Three II is also designed to connect to most sources, including turntables, thanks to its variety of inputs, making it a great alternative to separates systems in smaller spaces. Also, the underemphasis in the mid-range can cause lead instruments and vocals to sound muddy and to be pushed towards the back of the mix. Incorporating luxury materials such as real wood veneer and tactile spun-metal switches and knobs, the Klipsch Heritage Wireless series of powered audio systems blends the acoustics and classic design legacy of Paul W.

The Klipsch device has a “hi-fi” type of tonal balance — the low end is generous and the high-end extension is very brilliant and precise, while the midrange sounds slightly hollow. Our artifacts tests measure how much source audio is distorted when played back, along with such other sound artifacts as noise, pumping effects, and clipping. On the whole, the Klipsch Three II is a very likeable proposition that’ll be great for kitchens, home offices, bedrooms and other secondary listening environments. The ease of using a variety of sources will satisfy the needs of even the most demanding, and the fantastic sound quality will positively surprise all users.

The built-in D/A converter supports files with a density of up to 24bit/192kHz, it can handle the vast majority of our archive. Please note: TV and larger floorstanding speaker deliveries are not available to Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Scottish Islands, and Channel Islands. The One II is smaller, and its sound profile's mid-range is slightly better balanced, resulting in vocals and lead instruments that sound more present in the mix.

It might be fair to say that the artisans of Rolls Royce will not be beating a path to Arkansas to substitute their dashboards for the ‘wood’ in use here but the Three II is a fun product to interact with and it feels like it will still be strutting its stuff at the point where it genuinely is old rather than just looking old. The aesthetics won’t please everyone but they’ve been done with a sufficient lightness of touch and general quality that I think it will please more people than it repels. By doing so, you are ensuring a thorough and dedicated demonstration of the product by our qualified staff. This means that the Three II might be either exactly what you are looking for or a complete non starter but it’s worth digging a little deeper into whether the specification of the Klipsch has the scope to make it a bit of a bargain. Surprisingly, the dynamics components hold up well even when listening from behind the device, except for bass precision, which tends to become somewhat blurry.

There's an indicator light that blinks as you modify the volume; it turns solid once you reach the speaker's minimum or maximum volume levels.

The Three tabletop stereo system also features 192kHz / 24-bit decoding for flawless reproduction of high resolution audio tracks from your PC. It is an application that can be downloaded to the phone, and it is used to standardize the network service of the device.

In the TV-viewing use case, the tendencies of the Three II are emphasized, which means that the tonal balance seems hollow, lacking in low-midrange warmth, especially on voice-oriented content, and high-mids tend to be slightly harsh. It struggles to reproduce low-bass, so you can't feel the deep thump and rumble in bass-heavy music like hip-hop, and there isn't a graphic EQ or presets you can use to tweak its sound to your liking. Why shouldn't you enjoy high-performance stereo sound from a powerful and beautifully crafted stereo system?
