About this deal

This is a great book, the drawings are amazing and we are thrown into the imagination of a little boy! A cool added tidbit is in the back of the book, all of the text is translated side by side in Chinese.

The illustrations were colourful and great the way the dragon always evaded them, always just out of frame. What a cute little story of Chinese New Year traditions, with a fun twist of this group of kiddos setting traps to try to catch a dragon. Set in China during the Spring Festival, the wily dragon will have to avoid trap after trap as the kids run through paper lanterns, fireworks, the Nian lion puppet, and more! The intrepid explorer’s crewmates are a motley assortment of “aliens”—among them are a kid in a hoodie with the laces pulled so tight that only a nose and mouth are visible; a plump kid with a bluish cast to his skin; and a pinkish girl with a toothpick-thin neck and huge bug eyes.It appears to take place in a Chinese area, perhaps even China, yet, there are all sorts of ethnicities present. Sure there are some different nationalities, but when you walk down a street in China, even in Hong Kong, it really is very Chinese, so to see the wide-variety of nationalities; it just seemed off for the story. With bonus educational content and Mandarin translations in the back to enhance your reading experience, How to Catch a Dragon is the perfect dragon book for kids ages 3-8! I personally love the reference to Dragons Love Tacos when the main character mentions using rice to catch this dragon and not tacos. All of Adam Wallace's "How to Catch" series are beautifully illustrated and cover ideas of creative thinking and inventive thought-process.

He has illustrated several New York Times, USA Today, and Barnes and Noble bestselling titles, and can't think of a better job to have than being paid to doodle stuff all day long! Her best-selling Princess series and Albie series have each sold over a quarter of a million copies and her books are published in numerous languages all over the world.Books bring out the best imaginations in children and this one does that, with lots of great fun characters to meet along the way of a fun adventure!
