About this deal

Via a single USB cable, the GT-001 functions as a high-quality audio interface for your Mac or Windows computer. This metal rod differs from guitar to guitar (some guitars such as classical guitars don't usually have a truss rod! I do have rectifiers, marks and an uberschall and I feel the models are close enough for my entertainment - I have not compared directly.

For guitars with standard tremolos, we can set it to float and be used both up or down like a true tremolo or we can lock the trem block back so the tremolo will only go downwards. To me, it also sounds fantastic in my quiet home context…some of the tones I can quickly get really kinda blow me away and are plenty inspiring…. It (inexplicably, for me) just doesn’t do that, and it’s the main criticism I have for the GT-001 as a whole. I did however spend some time with the GT Tone Studio doing some basic tweaks on all of the patches to make them more “synthesizer” friendly. The preamps have gain, level, EQ; the vibrato has rate and depth; things just make sense, if you’ve used the analogue equivalent, or even other DSP things.Edit - from a quick glance on YouTube I think it might well be the midi setup in Reaper that's the issue. I supposed it's enough to enter notes in a midi partition, but not good to record something accurate. After downloading and extracting the compressed file, please refer to the “GT-001_System_Update_Procedure” pdf document included for the update procedure. We get it: computers are great, rogue AI hasn’t yet Skynetted the world yet, and so we all stand to benefit. I think it’s fair to say that if you’re willing to sit and read the extremely long manual, or you have a background in audio devices like this, you are probably not going to face any issues here.

But really, you shouldn’t need a manual to choose a USB interface after you plugged in one USB interface. There is no reason, as a total beginner, you couldn’t learn to use this and totally enjoy both the learning process and the end result, but this is going to take time, and you need to bear this in mind, if on the “beginner” end, when choosing this or a simpler unit. html) which allows non-class-compliant USB devices like the BOSS products to be controlled via 5-pin MIDI. If you’re looking to be able to apply FX to a guitar while also using a microphone at the same time, this is not the right product, unless you’re willing to supplement it with some other bits. However, the GT-001 is sufficiently latency-free that my human ears couldn’t detect any kind of delay. It has absolutely everything you could possibly want, if you’re the type of person who wants to connect a guitar (or bass) to a computer and get recording, with a range and flexibility of FX that is superb.

Simply utilise it's intuitive interface to dial up world-class preset tones to transform your guitar in seconds. I actually have the Nord Lead 2 midi’d up to the Boss RC-202 so that the RC-202 controls the Nord’s arp tempo.I encountered another strange bug where switching effects using the buttons on the unit itself (rather than the software on the computer) would cause a delay to be introduced in the signal, up to a whole second.

The delay remained until I detached and reconnected the USB cable, at which point it was back to normal again. Another reason I bought the GT-001 is the following: “In addition, there’s an enormous range of amazing effects on hand—overdrives, distortions, mod effects, delays, reverbs, pitch shifters, you name it. It’s not asking for much here, but it does show how the Tone Studio is designed and aimed: at high-level enthusiasts and at professionals. Under the hood of the GT-001’s stylish, streamlined body is a full-featured BOSS multi-effects processor with premium tone. With dual routing capabilities, a host of high quality MDP effects and USB connectivity, the GT 001 is nothing short of a game changer in the guitar pedal world. For live playing, I think this setup works just fine, but for studio recording, one might wish for the dedicated midi connections.
