About this deal

Even once the toilets are in sight, the queue is so very long that Alan doesn't think he can possibly wait! For pregnant women who do not have UTI’s, the urge to urinate should subside about six weeks after giving birth.

Part of a series of picture books with an internet safety theme, Old MacDonald Had a Phone tackles the subject of limiting screen time with Jeanne Willis’ and Tony Ross’ marvellous humour and zaniness. A urinalysis is simply a urine test that checks to see, among other things, if there’s bacteria or an infection in your urine. As well as sometimes causing urge incontinence, overactive bladder syndrome can mean you need to pass urine very frequently, including several times during the night. If you have a UTI, your doctor will prescribe a course of antibiotics to treat and cure the condition. See if there are any patterns that might be causing you to pee more, like the times you tend to drink, and see if it helps to change things up. If a person frequently needs to pee but little comes out when they try to go, it can be due to a urinary tract infection (UTI), pregnancy, an overactive bladder, or an enlarged prostate.

That pressure can cause the urge to pee before the bladder is full, resulting in very little urine being passed. It can mean planning your day around access to a toilet, it can affect your quality of sleep, and can lead to feelings of anxiety. At the same time, pressure from the urine that's left in your bladder builds up behind the obstruction, causing frequent leaks.

For men, an urge to pee can be the result of a swollen or enlarged prostate, which puts increased pressure on the bladder.

For most people, medications, lifestyle changes, and coping strategies can either solve the underlying problem or help minimize the effect the symptoms have on their daily life.During the first trimester of pregnancy, hormonal changes can lead to sensations of needing to urinate. Pharmacists are a good source of advice on over-the-counter remedies, but if constipation is frequent or difficult to manage, you should speak to a GP. Later in pregnancy, they may feel the need to urinate more often due to the fetus putting pressure on their bladder.
